The short version

Millbrook sits on I-65 just north of Montgomery, between Prattville and Wetumpka. It's mostly suburban, with a downtown built around Village Green Park, where a lighted walking path, a gazebo and footbridges cross Mill Creek.

The city has become a regional sports destination thanks to the 17 Springs complex, which keeps adding fields, courts and restaurants around it. At about 14 square miles, it's easy to get anywhere in town in a few minutes.

Getting around

I-65 (exit 181), AL-14 and AL-143. Usually 15–20 minutes to Maxwell, the shortest of the four towns, and 20–25 minutes to Gunter.

Schools

Elmore County Schools serves almost all of Millbrook, including Coosada Elementary, Airport Road Intermediate, Millbrook Middle and Stanhope Elmore High. Since 2025 the district has let students with a military-affiliated parent attend any school in the district.

New construction

Stone Martin (Kamden's Cove, with Overlook coming) and Goodwyn Building are the main builders.
